This is another sheath for a Doug Hartsook knife, the Black Bowie. Fairly basic leather sheath. Constructed out of black harness leather. It is difficult to see in this picture but the thread used for stiching is amber. I think it matches the brass hilt very well. OK, a couple of things here...the knife itself is a Bark River standard hunter. In addition the sheath holds a fire starter in the loop to the side as well as a sharpening stone in the pouch on the front. The sheath was made for a professional wilderness guide that preferred good tools that were protected and a sheath that would hide the nature of what he was carrying. As he teaches youngsters the ways of the wild and wooly wood, we thought it best to not scare them to death with sharp pointy things.
